Tower Night Wildlife Experience
Spend a Magical Night in the Heart of Chitwan’s Protected Forest
If you want to experience the jungle after sunset, our Tower Night Wildlife Experience is one of the most unique adventures available in Chitwan.
This is not a luxury hotel stay. It is not a camping trip.
It is a peaceful overnight wildlife experience where you stay inside a forest observation tower, surrounded by nature, listening to the sounds of the jungle and watching wildlife in its natural habitat.
At Jungle Safari Tours Nepal, we offer carefully planned Tower Night programs inside the protected Buffer Zone and National Park Extension Areas, where wildlife moves freely between forests, rivers, and grasslands.
Every Tower Night is guided by experienced local naturalist guides and protected by trained Forest Guards, allowing you to enjoy the wilderness safely and responsibly.
Why Choose a Tower Night?
The jungle becomes completely different after sunset.
As daylight fades, the forest changes.
Bird calls slowly disappear.
Owls begin calling.
Deer become more alert.
Wild animals quietly move toward rivers and grasslands to drink water and feed.
From the observation tower, you simply sit, listen, watch, and enjoy nature without disturbing wildlife.
This is one of the most peaceful wildlife experiences available in Nepal.
Carefully Selected Tower Locations
We only use towers located in protected wildlife habitats with excellent opportunities for animal observation.
Each tower overlooks natural water sources, open grasslands, or wildlife corridors where animals regularly move.
Depending on wildlife activity, weather, and guest preference, we may use different tower locations.
Dudhaura Observation Tower
One of our favourite locations.
This tower overlooks the Rapti River, open grasslands, and an important wildlife corridor.
From the tower, guests can enjoy wide panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, with visibility extending several hundred metres across the grasslands.
Wildlife frequently seen here includes:
- Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros
- Deer
- Crocodiles
- Wild Boar
- Many Bird Species
Animals often cross the river, come to drink water, or feed in the nearby grasslands, making this one of the best wildlife observation points in the area.
Elephant Breeding Centre Forest Tower
Located deeper inside the protected forest beyond the Elephant Breeding Centre.
This peaceful tower overlooks natural forest habitat where wildlife regularly moves between feeding and resting areas.
It is an excellent location for enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the jungle after sunset.
Bob Tal Observation Tower
Situated near a beautiful wetland and grassland ecosystem, this tower provides another excellent opportunity to observe wildlife visiting natural water sources.
The combination of forest, open grassland, and wetlands creates an ideal habitat for many different animal species.
Chitrasen Community Forest Tower
Located beside the river within Chitrasen Community Forest, this tower offers beautiful views over riverbanks, forest edges, and open grazing areas.
It is especially popular for birdwatching and observing wildlife moving between the forest and the river.
Baghmara Community Forest Tower
This tower overlooks one of the most active wildlife areas inside Baghmara Community Forest.
Although smaller than some of our other towers, it offers excellent opportunities to observe animals feeding in nearby grasslands.
This area is also used during elephant safari operations, although we do not recommend elephant rides as part of our responsible tourism philosophy.
Instead, we visit this peaceful location in the evening to quietly enjoy nature from the observation tower.
Kumroj Tower
Located further from the village than most other towers, Kumroj offers a quieter and more remote atmosphere.
Because it is farther from hotels and settlements, guests can enjoy a more natural forest experience with fewer human sounds.
It is also located inside one of our Community Forest Jeep Safari routes and offers very good wildlife viewing opportunities.
Safety Always Comes First
Your safety is our highest priority.
Every Tower Night includes:
- Professional Local Naturalist Guide
- Licensed Forest Guard
- Wildlife Safety Briefing
- Emergency Communication
- Responsible Wildlife Observation
Your guide stays throughout the entire night to provide information about wildlife and assist guests whenever needed.
The Forest Guard remains on duty for security throughout the night.
Comfortable Overnight Stay
Guests sleep inside the observation tower.
The accommodation is simple, clean, and designed for nature lovers rather than luxury travellers.
Rooms normally include two single beds.
Most towers have toilet facilities located within the tower structure, so guests do not need to go downstairs during the night.
At the Baghmara Tower, however, the toilet is located on the ground level.
If you need to use the toilet during the night, simply inform your guide.
Your guide and Forest Guard will first check the surrounding area for wildlife before accompanying you safely.
For your safety, guests should never leave the tower without informing their guide.
The jungle is home to wild animals, and following safety instructions is essential.
A Peaceful Night in Nature
One of the greatest highlights of Tower Night is simply experiencing the jungle after dark.
On clear nights you can enjoy:
- Thousands of bright stars
- Fresh forest air
- Peaceful natural sounds
- Moonlight over the grasslands
- Bird calls at dawn
- Sunrise over the forest
Sometimes your guide may quietly knock on your room if wildlife appears near the tower.
With your permission, you can wake up to observe animals from a safe distance without disturbing them.
Every night is different, making each experience truly unforgettable.
Combine Tower Night with Other Adventures
Tower Night can easily be combined with many of our most popular activities.
Popular combinations include:
- Half-Day Jungle Walk + Tower Night
