Jeep Safari in Chitwan National Park
Explore the Wild in Comfort with Local Expert Guides
A Jeep Safari is one of the best ways to explore the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of Chitwan National Park. It allows you to travel deeper into the forest, cover more distance, and enjoy excellent opportunities to see wildlife while staying comfortable throughout the journey.
At Jungle Safari Tours Nepal, our Jeep Safaris are led by experienced local naturalist guides who know the park, the animals, and their seasonal movements. Every trip is carefully planned to give you the best possible wildlife experience while always respecting nature and following National Park regulations.
Whether you are visiting Chitwan for the first time or you are a wildlife photographer searching for rare animals, we have a Jeep Safari that matches your interests.
Why Choose Our Jeep Safari?
Unlike many operators, we focus on quality rather than large groups.
Our experienced local guides continuously monitor fresh animal tracks, alarm calls from deer and monkeys, weather conditions, water sources, and seasonal wildlife movement to choose the best safari routes each day.
Every safari offers a chance to explore Chitwan’s diverse habitats, including:
- Dense Sal Forest
- Open Grasslands
- Beautiful Lakes
- Natural Wetlands
- River Systems
- Small Forest Streams
- Wildlife Observation Areas
- Scenic Mountain Foothills
Every day in the jungle is different, making each safari a unique experience.
Our Three Jeep Safari Options
Half-Day Jeep Safari
Duration: Approximately 4 Hours
Morning Safari
7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Afternoon Safari
1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Our Half-Day Jeep Safari is perfect for visitors who want to experience the beauty of Chitwan National Park in a shorter time.
The route usually starts from Sauraha and travels toward Kasara before returning through a combination of the same road and a circular forest route. During the journey, we explore beautiful Sal forests, open grasslands, peaceful lakes including Tamar Tal and Lami Tal, small wetlands, and the foothills of the Churia Hills.
The total driving distance is approximately
55 kilometres, allowing plenty of time to search for wildlife while enjoying the changing landscapes.
Wildlife sightings may include:
- Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros
- Spotted Deer
- Sambar Deer
- Wild Boar
- Crocodiles
- Monkeys
- Hundreds of Bird Species
Every safari is different, and wildlife sightings depend on the season, weather, and animal movement.
Private or Shared Safari
Morning Half-Day Jeep Safaris are available as
private trips only and must be reserved in advance.
Afternoon safaris are available as either:
- Private Jeep Safari for couples, families, or small groups
- Shared Jeep Safari when seats are available
Each jeep can accommodate up to
10 guests, making it ideal for families and groups of friends.
Full-Day Jeep Safari
Duration: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our Full-Day Jeep Safari is the ultimate wildlife experience for visitors who want to explore much deeper into Chitwan National Park.
This adventure covers a much larger area than the Half-Day Safari and reaches remote parts of the park that many visitors never see.
Depending on seasonal road conditions and river levels, the safari may travel as far as the Temple Tiger area. During the monsoon season, if river crossings become unsafe, the route is adjusted while still exploring excellent wildlife habitats near Tiger Hills and other productive areas.
Because we spend the entire day inside the park, guests should bring:
- Packed Lunch
- Drinking Water
- Snacks
- Camera
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Binoculars (optional)
We stop regularly for wildlife observation, photography, short breaks, and lunch in designated safe areas.
The Full-Day Jeep Safari is especially popular with photographers, birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, and guests who want the highest chance of seeing a wide variety of animals.
Tiger-Focused Jeep Safari
Many visitors dream of seeing the Royal Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat.
Although tiger sightings can never be guaranteed, our experienced guides understand the park’s seasonal wildlife patterns and know where recent tiger activity has been recorded.
For guests who specifically wish to search for tigers, we can plan a specialised Full-Day Jeep Safari focusing on known tiger habitats.
Sometimes we quietly wait for several hours near areas where fresh tracks, scent markings, or recent movement have been observed.
Patience is one of the most important parts of wildlife photography.
Our guides may also use elevated observation towers where guests can quietly watch natural wildlife activity without disturbing the animals.
Chitwan National Park has one of Nepal’s healthiest tiger populations, supported by abundant prey species, healthy forests, and numerous natural water sources.
Tigers are naturally shy and mostly active during early morning, evening, and nighttime. However, during the breeding season, especially between
February and April, daytime sightings become more frequent.
Even when searching for tigers, guests often enjoy sightings of rhinoceros, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, wild boar, monkeys, and many beautiful birds.
Remember that every wildlife sighting is a special bonus, and no responsible safari company can promise to see a tiger. What we can promise is that our experienced guides will always give you the best possible opportunity while respecting the animals and their natural behaviour.
Community Forest Jeep Safari
Duration: Approximately 2.5 Hours
This safari is an excellent choice for visitors with limited time or those looking for a shorter and more affordable wildlife experience.
Available departure times:
Morning
- 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM
- 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Afternoon
- 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
- 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Departure times are flexible by approximately 30 minutes depending on guest preference and park regulations.
The Community Forest forms part of Chitwan’s protected Buffer Zone and is an important wildlife corridor connecting different forest habitats.
Visitors often see rhinoceros, deer, monkeys, peacocks, crocodiles, and many bird species while enjoying peaceful forest roads and beautiful scenery.
Best Time for Jeep Safari
Jeep Safari operates throughout the year.
Each season offers a different experience.
February to April is one of the best times for wildlife photography because animals are often more active, grass is shorter, and visibility is excellent.
During the dry season, many animals gather near rivers and water sources, increasing wildlife viewing opportunities.
No matter when you visit, every safari offers a unique experience because nature is always changing.
Responsible Wildlife Tourism
At Jungle Safari Tours Nepal, we believe that wildlife should always come first.
We never chase animals.
We never disturb wildlife for photographs.
We always maintain a safe distance, follow National Park rules, and respect the natural behaviour of every species.
Our goal is not only to help guests see wildlife but also to create a deeper understanding of conservation and the importance of protecting Chitwan National Park for future generations.
