Born in the Jungle. Guided by Nature. Dedicated to Sharing the Real Chitwan.
My name is Krishna Pariyar, founder of Jungle Safari Tours.I was born in 1981 in Chitwan, on the edge of what is now one of the most famous wildlife destinations in Asia. Long before tourism became popular, Chitwan was a very different place. The villages were small, surrounded by dense forests, rivers, and open grasslands. Wildlife was a natural part of everyday life.Growing up in Sauraha, my family depended heavily on nature. We collected firewood from the forest, caught fish from the rivers, gathered wild vegetables, and lived closely with the rhythms of the jungle. At night, wild animals often came near our villages. Farmers built watch towers to protect their crops from rhinos, deer, wild boars, and sometimes elephants. The jungle was not a tourist attraction to us it was simply home.
Learning From the Jungle
My father worked as a local jungle guide, and from an early age I had the opportunity to accompany him into the forests of Chitwan. While other children were learning from books alone, I was also learning from nature itself.Over the years, I learned how to read animal footprints, identify bird calls, understand wildlife behavior, recognize feeding signs, follow movement patterns, and interpret the many signals that the forest provides. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of Chitwan that can only come from spending a lifetime living beside the jungle.Today, this local knowledge allows me to help visitors experience Chitwan in a safe, respectful, and meaningful way.
Professional Experience Beyond Tourism
My connection to Chitwan goes beyond guiding
visitors.Throughout my career, I have participated in various conservation and wildlife-related activities, including: Tiger counting programs Bird surveys and wildlife monitoring Churia Hill environmental surveys Guide training and mentoring programs Conservation awareness campaigns River and community forest clean-up activities Local tourism and skill development initiativesThese experiences have helped me gain a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation, ecosystem protection, and responsible tourism.
The Beginning of Jungle Safari Tours
In 2007, I founded Jungle Safari Tours with a simple mission:To provide authentic, ethical, and locally guided wildlife experiences while supporting the people and communities of Chitwan. At that time, many visitors experienced Chitwan through large tour operators and middlemen. I believed travelers deserved a more personal experience guided by people who truly knew the forest and local culture.Since then, Jungle Safari Tours has welcomed visitors from around the world who are looking for more than just sightseeing. Our guests come to experience the real Chitwan—its wildlife, landscapes, culture, and local way of life.
Our Philosophy
At Jungle Safari Tours, we believe that great safaris are not measured by how many animals you see. They are measured by how deeply you connect with nature. That is why we focus on: Small and personalized experiences Ethical wildlife tourism Respect for animals and their habitats Local knowledge and expert guiding Community-based tourism Authentic cultural experiences Visitor safety and environmental responsibilityEvery tour is designed to help guests understand the jungle rather than simply pass through it.
Supporting Local Communities
Tourism should benefit the people who call Chitwan home.
That is why a portion of our business supports local community development and skill enhancement programs. We believe that when local communities benefit from tourism, they become stronger partners in conservation and sustainable development.
Our long-term vision is to create more opportunities for local guides, families, and small community-based tourism businesses throughout the Chitwan region.
